♠ R E G I S T R A T I O N ♠

First things First! Welcome to Tame The Fade! We are a Play-By-Post Dragon Age role-play site. The only limits here are your imagination and of course any rules mentioned below. Before you join, take a good look at the rules and the specific timeline of events that shape our World of Thedas! Once you have decided to join us, please register under any account name you’d like. Once you’ve done this all we ask is that you change your display name to your character’s full name in proper capitalization! From there you’ll need to fill out a character profile and wait to be accepted by the mod team. You cannot role-play before being accepted, but you may want to claim a face for your character, in this thread. Please use real celebrities, may they be actors, singers, or models for your face claims! That means no Facebook pictures, no pictures of yourself, your friend or anything of that nature.

♠ R A T I N G ♠

This forum adheres to Proboards PG-13 rating. What this means is that no posts may include DETAILED adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements. If you are planning on playing out anything of a questionable nature, there are always ways to insinuate the actions and/or just have your post fade to black. While we allow these things to happen, we do not want to read excruciating details in your posts. If you feel that your thread may border on a MATURE rating, please tack on a [M] in the thread title. As for OOC, feel free to cuss in moderation, but keep in mind we may have younger members reading, so nothing too graphic!

♠ R O L E P L A Y I N G ♠

This is a semi literate site, meaning we do have minimum criteria for posting but we are not too strict about it. So that being said please post at least two well written, well detailed paragraphs. That means at least six sentences per paragraph. People need to be able to work off your post. Please use third-person when writing and obviously, no god moding! I highly doubt you would be happy if you came across a post where someone controlled your character so don't do it to someone else. Now if you have permission to do so, then by all means do it, but both parties must be in agreement. The Admins may not always be online, but if you have need of them, you may contact them through PM, catch them in the Shoutbox (for simple questions), or in extreme situations through messenger.

♠ R E S P E C T ♠

Please respect fellow players and the staff members. If you do not like someone keep it to yourself or go make an arch enemy for one of their characters. I don't care as long as it not OOC. We will not tolerate fighting in the shoutbox, and if we find out it's been happening in PM's, we aren't going to be happy. So just don't do it. Absolutely NO bashing any member or the site itself. Measures will be taken to make sure this sort of behavior does not continue. So please just try to keep the drama for the role-playing it's more fun that way anyway. If you feel a member is harassing you in any way, contact a moderator immediately. Do not take matters into your own hands or off the site, this only causes more problems! If you have been having a bad day and want to vent, we will allow it, but don’t mistake our kindness for weakness. If you are attention seeking or being passive aggressive OOC, we will step in.

♠ C H A R A C T E R S ♠

Like most sites there is a limit to how many characters you can create. The limit here is three, not counting two canon characters you may choose to apply for. Please note that if you do make a second or third character and we don't think you deserve to have a new character because you don't even play with your first character then we have the right to decline your application. The opposite can be said for someone who has proven to be active with all their characters evenly. Anyone who is willing to keep up with activity checks may approach a moderator and request for their limit to be extended. If we see that you can handle it, we are more than willing to let you have it. Role-play is meant for fun and not as a chore, so please keep in mind what you can actually write for and not just what you can think up and create a profile for. Please also try to keep your creations diverse. If we see a sharp spike in certain factions, classes, or races, we may have to set up a temporary ban on the creation of such characters. We would like to have a level playing field so no one grows too strong as a group.

Concerning Character Death
If you plan to kill off your own character, the choice is yours. We will NOT allow you to bring them back from the dead though. No Copy Cat characters or instant-Twins after your character has perished. Canon characters need direct mod approval to be killed off.

Concerning Pets/Mounts
Feel free to give your characters pets and mounts! If you plan on creating a very specific creature, one that you will avidly roleplay, that can stand alone, please run it by the mods first. We are a Fantasy based roleplay, but we would rather not allow people to roleplay animals as opposed to humans/Elves/Qunari/Etc.

♠ A C T I V I T Y ♠

Please, DO NOT register here, actually make a bio ,and then never be active. I mean, it's just wasting your time and our time. Now what defines being active? We require you post with each of your characters at least once a week. If you can't make the deadline for activity checks, let us know! We are pretty lenient in regards to real life events. If you would also like us to take over your character for extended periods of time, we may be up to it, again just let us know! We would rather you come to us first instead of lending your character out to someone else. Obviously, this only applies primarily to canon characters. For any personal characters you want to 'rent' out, there is a board for that here. Now if you’re going to be away for more than a week, also let us know. Any account that has not been active for more than 3 weeks, and has not informed us, will be deleted. If you do come back after falling into the abyss you may re-register as we keep all bio's. However if you played a canon, and someone took it while you were away, then you’re going to have to live with it. We also have the right to ban someone who abuses this rule. What does that mean? That means that Someone who seems to disappear quite a lot and always seems to have some crazy excuse will probably find themselves permabanned. Don’t lie to us about your situation; if at any point you just do not want to role-play anymore, but you want to stay on the site, this is perfectly acceptable. We are a community and quite enjoy each other’s company IC and OOC. There will be SPECIFIC and RANDOM activity checks for Canon characters, so dedicate your time to them first and foremost.
